An Insight into Dominical
- the start of the Zona Sur on the Pacific

"A lovely beach just south of Dominical"
One of the most popular places for surfing located an hour or so south of Manuel Antonio on a road some people find a bit bumpy.

You can choose another faster route coming in from Cartago and San Isidro - a bustling market town in the center of the country. This alternate route is along the "road less traveled" on the "cerro de la muerte" stopping of in the Savegre area for some excellent bird watching if you like.

Dominical is a surfer town and as yet not very developed. The very long beaches seem to stretch forever at low tide - quite a spectacular site. Dominical makes a good base for explorations south to the Osa or maybe an indigenous visit to Boruca.

Few visitors make it south of Dominical and Uvita but those who do will be rewarded with some interesting experiences.
