An Insight into Nacientes Palmichal

"From whence the name Nacientes came from"

A rural community tour that other rural communities learn from. When we were there most of the visitors were from other communities trying to learn how to create rural tourism situations for their own villages.

During your visit with local villagers, you can learn a little about the people, the area and the ways they sustain themselves.

You can visit Tabarcia which is a traditional Costa Rican community where you can have a typical breakfast. Perhaps you'd like to learn how to make the traditional and delicious Gallo Pinto. After that you can stop on a farm nearby - the future of the planet depends on how we use our resources and create a sustainable environment. You will see how a bio-digester works (if it is working!) and understand the potential of organic waste. Perhaps you'll come away with some ideas of your own on how we can all reduce our impact on the planet.

You could have lunch in Palmichal and later to take a nature walk in the reserve, chat about conservation and learn more about what people do with natural resources in this unique area of Costa Rica.

At the end of the trip if time you can visit the local dairy and the lodge where you can try a freshly brewed local coffee next to a typical stove. Ask about other rural communities where you can learn more about the people and the country.
