An Insight into Nuevo Arenal

"From La Colina"

This village should not to be confused with Arenal (the Volcano) about an hour east along the lake over a very bumpy road (in between fillings). Nuevo Arenal is a little town founded in 1973, 32 km (20 miles) northeast of Tilaran. This town offers fishing trips as well as good wind surfing. Near by you'll find the Arenal Botanical Gardens with many exotic and rare species - the gardens attract many birds and butterflies. Close to Nuevo Arenal is Lake Coter with a butterfly farm and a canopy tour. There is a good view of Volcan Arenal from many places around Lake Arenal.
