An Insight into Ostional National Wildlife Refuge

It is located 7km north of Nosara (you need to cross 3 rivers so ask at Nosara if it is passable in the rainy season May to November.

This refuge is committed to turtle conservation and also has other natural treasures including trails and mangrove swamps. We can't recommend this place more highly for a turtle laying visit . . . we advise staying in Nosara and getting your hotel to see if they can find a turtle trip (done at night only - wear black to avoid upsetting mama turtle).
