An Insight into Arenal/Tabacon area

About 87% of everyone coming to Costa Rica comes to visit the spectacular Arenal.
Your destination may not be the "road less traveled" but we can take you
there on a route most people
do not try if you like.
This volcano is a perfect cone of 1633 meters of altitude
(5.307 Ft), in constant activity since 1968. Arenal can offer the visitor a
spectacle with eruptions and lava (but ONLY if the clouds permit it). If, as
happened to us 4 times before we saw it, the clouds do not permit then come
on back! Most of the time if the clouds part in the day time, you will see
hot rocks being ejected and tumbling down the sides of the volcano leaving steaming
trails down the flanks of this majestic peak. Many people observe the hot lava at the top at night.
Other things to do include the world famous Tabacon hot springs near the
volcano where you can to relax and have a good time and perhaps dinner. On our
last trip we also enjoyed the excellent horseback ride near the side of the
volcano on the road to La Fortuna. Also if you want a relaxing day near Arenal
volcano, we recommend you visit the hanging bridges and take a great nature walk
across the rain forest. Cano Negro is a little north and makes a great day
trip from the Arenal area. We recommend 2 to 3 nights in the area minimum.
